Frequently AskedQuestions
The Portal calculates shipment-level emissions across road, sea, air, rail and multimodal freight movements.
Where a shipment contains several transport legs, CocoonCarbon® can calculate those individual legs to provide a clearer picture of the complete freight journey.
CocoonCarbon® provides three key emissions calculations:
WTW – Well-to-Wheel
The overall emissions associated with producing, supplying and using the energy or fuel.
WTT – Well-to-Tank
The upstream emissions associated with producing and supplying the fuel or energy.
TTW – Tank-to-Wheel
The emissions generated from using the fuel or energy during transport.
There are several options.
You can upload shipment data using CSV or Excel, integrate your existing systems with our API, or connect CocoonCarbon® to your TMS or ERP.
This means you don’t need to manually enter thousands of shipments individually.
A standard CocoonCarbon® Portal can typically be configured within three hours once we have the information required.
If DNS or other technical changes are needed for your setup, we provide instructions for your IT team and can assist with the process.
Yes.
Customer access can be provided so your clients can see the emissions information relating to their own shipments.
This enables freight forwarders and logistics providers to offer carbon visibility without manually producing separate reports for every customer.
Yes.
A journey can contain multiple transport modes and vehicle types.
For example, a shipment could contain:
Road → Sea → Rail → Road
CocoonCarbon® can calculate the individual transport legs rather than treating the entire movement as one generic journey.
The CocoonCarbon® Portal includes unlimited users.
This allows operations, management, sustainability teams and other authorised users to access the same emissions platform without purchasing individual user licences.
